A new HTML5 based version of WoodWing´s editorial management application aims at future-proofing essential publishing systems.

WoodWing says a trend away from Flash prompted the recreation of the editorial management application using HTML5, with the emphasis on usability and minimising data traffic.

Navigation includes common browser features such as bookmarks, tabs and history, with new opportunities to define workflows. Editors on the move or external contributors using an iPad can create dossiers for projects, upload text and images, write articles and sign off on content, just as if they were at their desk.

"Publishers strive for ever-increasing efficiency of their processes and better ROI from the systems they use. They want to work smarter and faster, and they want future-proof technology that imposes no limits," says chief executive Roel-Jan Mouw. "Feedback from beta users assured us that we are on the right track."

Previous versions of Content Station and Content Station 10 can be used in parallel, with the new version implemented step by step. Biweekly updates will see the addition of new features, with ongoing updates provided under a maintenance agreement.
