Web press maker manroland has welcomed a fresh intake of apprentices at its Augsburg factory.

The 16 young men and women taking their first steps in their professional careers started work on Thursday, bringing the total of apprentices to 64 in six different professions.

Three each of the new apprentices are electronic technicians for industrial engineering, industrial clerks, industrial mechanics and cutting machine operators. Two each are in technical product design and IT for applications development.

Board member Daniel Raffler emphasises the importance of the youth development programme: "We are delighted to offer interesting professional perspectives in an internationally operating company to young career starters.

"We are convinced that each and every apprentice delivers an important contribution to our company. We know that the success of our company can only be continued when our youth development program is encouraged and we are again delighted this year to be in the position to offer an attractive apprenticeship package."

After a short presentation, the new apprentices were taken on a guided tour through the production halls of the Augsburg plant, before meeting trainers and getting to know colleagues.
