David Currie has announced his retirement from executive duties at the family business of Currie Group, with the appointment of Rob Mesaros as chief executive.

He will remain as chairman, with Bernie Robinson as managing director, Phillip Rennell as sales and marketing director, Mark Daws as director for labels & packaging ANZ, and Andrew Fitzpatrick as finance director.
Currie began working with the business in 1969, joining his father who started it - as Currie & Southward - 20 years before.

A committed yachtsman, Currie recalls the company's days as an engineering company with "a couple of lathes and milling machines" which used to make parts for presses. The move into sales began with Shinohara presses in the mid 1970s, and included digital print with Indigo (now HP) in 2002. Other equipment now includes Horizon and Scodix.
