Google won’t have ‘home’ advantage in antitrust cases

America’s News Media Alliance has welcomed the move to hold upcoming Google antitrust cases in New York.

The decision by the Judicial Panel that the litigation pending against Google be held in New York has been described as “a very positive development” by the publishers’ association.

New York is viewed as more favorable than California, “as Google would have preferred”.

It says the forum location is faster forum, and its choice “does not grant Google a ‘home court advantage’.”

It says the panel’s decision cites the Alliance amicus brief filed in the proceeding.
