A collaboration between Monotech Systems and Pressline India has delivered world-first 864mm wide inkjet web with a ‘proudly Indian’ tag and newspapers clearly among target markets.

The KnowzzleJet M880 uses Memjet DuraLink printheads and is teamed with an integrated Xitron RIP, promising seamless variable data and efficient job management, at up to 150 metres per minute for continuous, stable operation for high-volume production.

Its development – with three presses already exported – is a matter of intense pride for the partners, with Monotech managing director Tej Prakash Jain calling it “a significant step forward in our vision to drive innovation in digital printing.

“Building something that has never been built before – the world’s first 34-inch roll-to-fold inkjet web press – is both a proud and defining achievement for us.

He said the collaboration brought together “deep engineering expertise and market understanding” to create a solution that bridges the gap between offset and digital.

“With this launch, we aim to empower printers with the speed, flexibility, and efficiency they need to stay competitive in a rapidly evolving industry.”

Proudly made in India, the new press reflects the country’s growing strength in advanced print manufacturing and innovation. It is seen as an “ideal alternative” to traditional web offset for short to medium runs.

The press is offered with fixed and variable cut options to support varied production requirements, and in four resolution options.
