manrolandGoss has upgraded an M600 press as part of a relocation from Hong Kong to Vietnam.

The installation of the maker’s IDCsmart colour control system is the first such retrofit on a press of this kind in nature, delivering precise colour control for the highest print quality.

Working for client C&C Joint Printing, the international team completed the relocation from Tai Po, Hong Kong to Vietnam – together with selective modernisation – in just three months.

With increasingly stringent demands on print quality and cost-effectiveness, the existing ink control system was considered obsolete, with spare parts hard to source and quality assurance no longer meeting current standards. The Omnicolor automated ink zone control system was also upgraded.

C & C Joint Printing (Vietnam) assistant general manager Yazhou Zhang said the M600 was again operating to the highest quality standards and with maximum process reliability.

“Waste has been reduced by two-thirds, and valuable insights into system performance have led to significant improvements in production efficiency and sustainability, all while remaining within the planned budget,” he said.

The refurbishment demonstrated how targeted modernisation can bring existing equipment up to the latest technical standards.
