When Wolfgang Krach's journalists received the first data leak from a 'John Doe' in 2015, little did he know it would ultimately lead to the biggest investigative journalism project the world has seen.
That Edison-screw lamp globe – the one embraced by the ‘Sun’ Page Three girl in the group’s environmental push – is back in a print campaign to promote News Limited’s multiplatform advertising offering.
Symbolically, the globe becomes dandelion seeds in one of the ads – under the ‘Where ideas spread’ theme – which have been developed inhouse. And exceptionally the ads push the News group, rather than individual mastheads, magazines or websites.
The campaign is being supported by an online promotion giving media people the opportunity to win a trip to the Cannes advertising festival.
