The run on new heatset equipment continues at DRUPA, with Goss International reporting a 16-page press order from a Brazilian printer.
Posigraf, one of the largest printers in Latin America, signed for a Goss 3000 web press at the show. The four-unit ‘gapless-blanket’ press with an 1830 mm web width and 2x8 format will be installed late this year.
With a PCF-3 pinless combination folder, it will produce magazine, tabloid, digest, delta-fold and slim-jim products at up to 15 meters per second. Goss will supply its Contiweb FD paster, Ecocool dryer with integrated chill rolls and Omnicon automated control technology with the new press system.
Owner Giem Guimaraes says the format will give far greater productivity and efficiency, and will expand options to customers: “The standards for print quality and production efficiency have risen sharply in Brazil in recent years.
“By adding the most advanced Sunday press technology, we will solidify our position as a leader that continues to set these standards and exceed the expectations of its customers.”
